Restaurant De Tuin
Restaurant De Tuin has been a beloved fixture on the Kralingse Plas in Rotterdam for years. A place built around warmth and togetherness; lunching by the water in summer, gathering in the cosy brasserie when the temperatures drop. When the sun comes out, it transforms into the largest and most vibrant waterside terrace in Rotterdam.
The brief
De Tuin has a strong character and a loyal following, but the visual identity no longer did it justice. They came to us looking for a brand that immediately communicates the warmth, nature and atmosphere of the restaurant. Not a cosmetic refresh, but a full rebrand that truly reflects who they are and how they want to be seen.

The challenge
The challenge lay in translating an atmosphere into a visual language. Restaurant De Tuin is a place with character, warmth and nature running through everything it does. The new branding had to communicate that experience at a glance, without falling back on clichés. It needed to feel refined but never cold. Warm but never cluttered. And above all: instantly recognisable as De Tuin.
Our approach
We translated the essence of De Tuin into a cohesive visual identity. The colour palette draws from nature: warm greens, earth tones and soft peach-pink hues that immediately evoke the feeling of a garden. The typography pairs an expressive script font for atmospheric details with a strong bold typeface for titles and headlines. From there, we designed and built a new website and new menus. The result: a calm, refined and warm aesthetic that reflects exactly who De Tuin is.
